Here is a shot that a Missourian should enjoy!
The Willamette River is about 1 mile from my home. It is very much like rivers in the Mid-West by the time that it reaches this point in the Valley. Higher up in the mountains our streams are clear and move very quickly. Down here in the Valley they are muddy and most are fairly sluggish. It flows into the Columbia River at Portland. It is bigger at that point as the Yamhill, Clackamas, Mollala, Pudding and Tualitan Rivers empty into it between here and there. We don't get too many morels on this stretch of the River. They are usually found along the tributaries a bit higher in altitude.
